It is absolutely ridiculous that these banks are reluctant to pay the American people back their money. The banks wouldn’t even be in business if we hadn’t implemented the TARP Program in late 2008. I think the tax Obama is pushing for against the bank is something that needs to happen. Moreover, it will keep large banks in check as well as allowing smaller banks greater competition. The program is said to last for a decade, and the left over money would be used to cut the deficit. The banks should not have a problem giving back tax payer’s money especially if they are giving themselves bonuses.

January 15, 2010I am so glad that we actually have a president who can act swiftly during a crises. However, it’s funny when people criticize one another when they aren’t doing anything to alleviate the problem. The logistics of bringing all those materials to that island must be chaotic, and the government seems incapable distributing those resources to their people. Although the earthquake was a 7.0 on the Richter’s scale the island can rebuild, and as a result implement stricter regulations on the structures of buildings. Furthermore, we should use this disaster as a way to gain experience on matters that are withing our borders.
